Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, and the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation announce the creation of the Dr. Ullysses McBride Memorial Scholarship in memory of the 26th Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to college students in their fields of study.
Dr. McBride served as the Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi from 1988 to 1991. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Knoxville College, a Master of Arts Degree from Indiana University, and earned a Doctor of Education Degree from Auburn University. He was a Coe Fellow of the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Professionally, Grand Polemarch McBride was a distinguished educator who served as a Dean, Chair, and Professor of Social Sciences at Faulkner State Community College, and ascended to President of Reid State Technical College.
“The Kappa Alpha Psi family would like to honor the 26th Grand Polemarch by establishing this scholarship fund in support of undergraduate students,” said Michael J. Dubose, President of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation Board of Directors. “Through our partnership, we will continue to support our collegiate achievers and continue the legacy of Dr. McBride.”
