Statement from the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation on the Passing of Cheryl A. Hickmon
The Board of Directors of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation expresses its sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Ms. Cheryl A. Hickmon, 27th National President and Chair of the National Board of Directors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Ms. Hickmon will be remembered for her leadership, dedication, and service not just to her sorority, but to the community. For more than 39 years, Ms. Hickmon served Delta Sigma Theta in a variety of roles on the local, regional and national level, culminating in her service as National President of the organization as of November 2021.
She was equally accomplished professionally through her work at the Montefiore’s Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Health. There, she was able to live her greatest joy, helping couples with the gift of children.
“There are leaders who impact us so greatly that they leave an indelible impression with everyone they meet,” said Michael J. Dubose, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation. “Ms. Hickmon will be remembered as one of those leaders. Her light is gone far too soon but her memory will remain with everyone whose lives were touched by her.”
On behalf of the Board of Directors, its staff, and volunteers, we honor the life of Ms. Cheryl A. Hickmon.
