Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation STEM Scholarship

The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation is proud to offer financial assistance to graduating high school seniors and continuing undergraduate students with a financial need attending a four-year accredited college or university and majoring in a STEM-related field of study. Five scholarships shall be awarded. These scholarships are available to all eligible students with declared or undeclared majors. Selected scholarship recipients will receive a one-year scholarship of $2,500.

  • Awarding of this scholarship is based on merit and financial need.
  • Applicants shall show achievement in academics, civic leadership, or a record of community service.

The Award recipient shall be announced in the summer of each year or at the Grand Chapter Meeting of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. during its Conclave year. The full award shall be disbursed at the beginning of the Fall semester.

To apply for a Foundation Scholarship, you must complete the online application and provide the following supporting documents as instructed in the application:

  • Resume
  • 2023-24 FAFSA Confirmation Page (received from filing FAFSA)
  • Most recent transcript (unofficial or official)
  • Three letters of recommendation from a current school professor, faculty member, or community leader.
  • Essay: In a minimum of 500 words, please address the following question: What inspired you to pursue a degree in your current field of study and how do you plan to use your studies to achieve your future career goals? (Please upload your essay in PDF format.)
  • A high-resolution headshot.

Additional Criteria:

  • Members and the immediate family of members of the Board of Directors of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Inc. are not eligible for consideration of any scholarship distributed by the Foundation.
