Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation Announces New Executive Director
The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, a national organization committed to serving youth from under-served and under-represented communities, recently selected Anthony G. Stepney to lead the national organization as its Executive Director.
Stepney will provide leadership to the organization and will oversee a variety of functions to continue the efficient administration and operation of the 38-year organization. In addition, he will serve as the chief development officer and provide support to the Foundation President and Board of Directors. Prior to his appointment, Stepney served with the Foundation on its signature biennial events, the Building the Dream Klassic and the Celebration of Achievement Luncheon, recently held in Philadelphia.
Stepney brings to the Foundation more than 25 years of fundraising, development and administrative leadership experience. In his new role, he will lead the development and implementation of the Foundation’s Strategic Plan, develop and manage programs and services that the Foundation offers to communities across the nation.
Recognized nationally for his thought leadership on golf-related and developmental business matters, Stepney is distinguished professionally – having been selected to the inaugural PGA LEAD Emerging Leaders program and various other efforts. Stepney recently earned the prestigious designation of PGA Master Professional, the highest educational honor and achievement among PGA of America Membership. As a Master Professional, he represents close to 1% of members of the association. Fewer than 400 PGA Member have ever achieved Master Professional status since its establishment in 1969. Stepney is the first African American to complete the designation in Player Development and only the second African American overall.
“Anthony Stepney’s strengths and expertise in areas such as strategic planning and development, program management, diversity and inclusion, youth development and education makes him a great fit for the Kappa Foundation’s leadership role,” said Michael J. Dubose, Foundation President. “Stepney will continue to take the organization to greater heights as we continue under the theme ‘A New Way Forward.’”
A Baltimore native, Stepney is extremely involved in the Central Florida community where he resides, supporting several community organizations. He is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and past vice president of the multi award-winning Winter Park (FL) Alumni Chapter. In addition, he is a former director of the Winter Park Achievement Foundation, Inc.
