ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation shall provide funding for a wide range of programs and practices including the following:

  • Alumni or Collegiate chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated
  • Supported or cosponsored by an active alumni or collegiate chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated
  • Program-driven research and analysis;
  • Personal and Leadership development;
  • Model programs that increases college access and academic achievement for underserved demographics with a particular emphasis on African American males.
  • International efforts which fall under the auspices of IKARE
  • Health related programs specific to the African American  and Latino community
  • Direct services that do not also advance one of the advocacy strategies listed in the program description;
  • Lobbying activities;
  • Annual fundraising drives;
  • Projects undertaken by individuals;
  • Capital costs, including equipment or real estate purchases / renovations;
  • Film production or post-production.
  • One-time events including dinners, luncheons, beautillions, parties, etc
  • Government organizations

The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation funds national, state, and local organizations whose programs have qualitative and quantitative measured outcomes instituted within it operations.  The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation will consider letters of inquiry from organizations or projects only if the proposed activities have clear and demonstrable potential for impact and/or replication in other localities or regions.

The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation will consider letters of inquiry from advocacy, scholarly or research institutions and nonprofit business associations or initiatives only if they meet the criteria above and further the work of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation.

The Kappa Alpha Foundation does NOT provide funding for:

  • Direct services that do not also advance one of the advocacy strategies listed in the program description;
  • Lobbying activities;
  • Annual fundraising drives;
  • Projects undertaken by individuals;
  • Capital costs, including equipment or real estate purchases / renovations;
  • Film production or post-production.
  • One-time events including dinners, luncheons, beautillions, parties, etc
  • Government organizations

* Sponsored organizations that are not collegiate or alumni chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated must have a 501c3 designation.
