Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation Elects Atlanta Executive Darryl Berry to Board of Directors

During its 2023 Annual Meeting, the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation Board of Directors elected Darryl Berry as its newest Board member. An entrepreneur and senior executive, Berry has a proven track record of leadership, business development, and operations with high-performing organizations. Berry’s expertise and skillset will assist the Foundation in its mission to invest in opportunities that engage today’s youth and young people in leading the social, economic, and educational transformation of underserved and underrepresented communities.

Berry grew up in Charlotte, NC, and currently resides in Atlanta, Ga. He attended North Carolina Central University and earned a degree in Business Administration. He is co-owner of Berry Enterprises, LLC and BSLB, LLC. As an entrepreneur, Berry has been an owner, co-owner, CEO and COO of a franchise brand and a franchise company. During his 25-year corporate career, he has held various positions such as national vice president of sales and operations, regional vice president, regional director, district manager, sales trainer, and as a sales professional at several Fortune 100 companies, including Arterial Vascular Engineering, Guidant Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Pfizer, and Procter and Gamble.

In 2004, Berry started a real estate investment company, and in 2007, became co-owner of a 100-restaurant brand with more than 1,500 employees. In 2010, he purchased and became the sole owner and CEO of 30 franchised restaurants with approximately 600 employees. After selling the franchised restaurants, he formed a family-held investment company.

Berry joined Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated in 1980 through the Alpha Kappa Chapter. He is a Life Member of the organization, a member of the Kappa 100, a member of the Decatur Kappa Alpha Psi Alumni Chapter, a former Polemarch of the Stone Mountain Alumni Chapter, and co-founder of the Metro Atlanta Coalition of Kappa (M.A.C.K).

In addition, Berry supports the Foundation through his membership in the Million Dollar Club and was a previous co-recipient of the Kappa 100 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He is also the chairman of the AK Foundation, primarily consisting of Alpha Kappa alumni. His community service extends to his alma mater, where he serves as a member of the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association, held positions at the Alpha Kappa Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and is Chairman of the AK Foundation primarily consisting of Alpha Kappa Alumni Brothers from North Carolina Central University.

The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation looks forward to Director Berry bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience to carry on the mission and vision of the Foundation.
